Safe, private, recruiter-first.
Everything in Sonarnote is designed to keep candidate interviews safe and out of the wrong systems. Local recording, no bots in the call, EU storage.
How interviews are captured.
Sonarnote was built around local capture so candidate audio never has to live inside the meeting platform or a third-party bot.
Local-first recording
The desktop recorder captures audio on your machine, not in the cloud or in a meeting bot. The upload happens after the call ends, over an encrypted channel, only to your workspace.
No bots in your meetings
Sonarnote never joins Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams as a participant. Candidates and hiring managers see only the people on the call.
What we do with your data, and what we will not.
No selling, no advertising profiles. Your recordings and transcripts exist to power your workspace.
Your data only powers your workspace
We do not sell your data or share it for advertising. Recordings and transcripts are processed solely to deliver your transcripts, notes, and search.
Privacy-friendly analytics
We use self-hosted analytics to understand aggregate usage. No third-party ad trackers. No cross-site profiling. No selling data, ever.
Your data, your control
You own the recordings, transcripts, and notes in your workspace. Export requests are handled by emailing support, and data-subject requests under GDPR and CCPA are answered within thirty days.
Encryption, deletion, and EU residency.
Storage, retention, and data-subject controls that map onto how recruiting teams actually need to work under GDPR.
Encryption in transit and at rest
Uploads travel over TLS. Cloud storage is encrypted at rest with AES-256 by default. Access to production credentials is limited to the engineers who need them.
Delete on demand
Delete any recording from the dashboard at any time. It disappears from your workspace immediately, and deletion is permanent within thirty days. Close your account and we delete or anonymize your personal data within sixty days.
EU operations, EU storage, GDPR ready
SIA Sonarnote operates the service from Latvia, and recordings are stored in EU cloud storage. We process personal data under GDPR. International transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
Questions recruiters and hiring teams ask.
Does Sonarnote record without a bot in the call?
Yes. The desktop app captures audio locally on the recruiter's machine. Nothing joins your Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams call.
What happens to my recordings and transcripts?
They are processed to deliver your transcripts, notes, and search, and we do not sell or share them for advertising. We rely on third-party providers to transcribe and process your content, and they handle it under their own data terms. See our privacy policy for details.
Where is the data stored?
Recordings and transcripts are stored in encrypted EU cloud storage. Subprocessors that handle data outside the EEA do so under Standard Contractual Clauses.
How do I delete a recording or my account?
Delete any recording from the dashboard and it disappears from your workspace immediately; deletion is permanent within thirty days. Closing your account removes or anonymizes your personal data within sixty days, except where law requires retention.
Is consent to record needed?
Consent requirements depend on jurisdiction. We recommend disclosing the recording to candidates at the start of every call. See our privacy policy for more.
